The last night of our skit. Years ago the NBYG decided, instead of doing a collecting of loosely connected skits, that we would do one skit stretched over four nights. This would hopefully help us create a more memorable story with greater impact and ultimately build to a final night with a powerful conclusion. God has blessed those efforts for many years. We're happy to say this year was no different. We performed the parts but it was God who touched hearts.
So tonight was the final chapter. We return to find the good toys squaring off against the bad toys. With the surprise return of Buzz Lightyear and Jessie, the good toys are able to vanquish their enemies. But, still, with all of the extra batteries gone, taken by the bad guys, the good toys' time is limited. They must find power and quickly. The answer is in the locked box but they still don't have the proper sequence for the combination. They must retrieve the envelope given to David Skidmore.
They must get to David Skidmore and quickly before their batteries run dry. And the only way to get there quickly is to fly and the only thing capable to fly there quickly is a flying time machine. Unfortunately, it's broken and stuck at 2059. So they'll have to fly to David Skidmore of the future and see if he's kept the envelope. Unfortunately, the time machine doesn't have enough battery power to make the flight. Until. Woody sacrifices himself for his friends and gives his batteries to power the time machine. It works and the time machine finds David Skidmore in 20159 when he's 82 years old...and looks strangely a lot like...Joe Mayes. I'll stop here to say there was spontaneous applause and a few tears when Joe made his appearance via video as Skid in 20159. It was a powerful moment that you can see here on Mike Jones' Facebook account...at minute 41:24 of the video.

The envelope retrieved from the future, but it doesn't immediately provide the code to the locked box. It's a key to the code that the children in the audience helped to figure out. And they do so successfully and with the locked box open, they retrieve an Infinite Battery -- a battery that never dies. And with that battery, the toys begin by bringing Woody back to life. Now, with everyone restored to life and the promise of unlimited power realized, Andy's toys prepare to go swimming at La Bufadora. And so our skit concludes with the understanding that our identity is found in the one whose sacrifice promises us eternal life. We know whose we are -- not Andy but Dios.
Here's a little shout out to Carol Lowe for her costume and prop work and backstage assistance and a few comparisons for you to judge for yourself just how close to the real thing we ended up looking. Here, judge for yourself.
